9-30-18/10-31-2017    Book of a Borderline "Destiny of Detours" was released today.  Written by website author.  Ebook was released on 9-30-18.  See about these books at this link here.

2-27-2015     Ok. Ok.  I am not perfect.  I have overlooked adding to this page, as my life went a bit sideways while caring for my newly widowed mother.  Things settled down in 2014.  Finally.  The really absurd thing was:  I published the meditation book that I wrote on November 1, 2011.  My mother's husband died 4 days later, therefore, the excitement of publishing was immediately replaced by a lot of stress and sadness.  But I came through that, but not without having "Borderline moments" of my own when I just couldn't cope, nor remember to use the Skills of recovery.  Instead I acted out and it was horrible.  Nobody died.  I did stay close to my DBT group and my therapist.  That's all I knew to do.  I did not want to die, and the deck was stacked against me for all the trying times that I faced from 11-5-2011 to 10-16-2013.

I cannot forget how much that carrying the message to others who suffer is so vitally important to my recovery.  That is why I am constantly updating this website with all the information that I can glean about this disorder.  Please, please pass this website on to anyone whom you think could use it.  Borderlines or loved ones.  You just may save somebody's life.

5-19-2012      May is Mental Health Month AND Borderline Personality Awarement Month.  Friends, sponsees of people I know have been approaching me more frequently to help them understand the condition that they may have just been diagnosed with.  I remind them I am not a professional, I have been in treatment for 8 years.  I have learned a lot of the pitfalls of Borderline, recovery, frustration to the patient and their families, and the rewards that treatment (of many kinds) can bring them.  My treatment came from Marsha Linehan's model of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)...so I may speak with more authority on it than any of the others.  However, the main pagfe of this website does offer explanations of the many different modalities of treatment that have been developed on their own, or use in conjunctionw ith other therapies to get results.  Yay recovery!

1-16-2012      I continue the crusade on public awareness of Borderline Personality Disorder, treatment, and my own meditation book written and being promoted to help others who wrestle with this devastating disorder.  The ebook was released in the last month to be able to be viewed on iPads, Nooks, Kindles, Sony Readers, Kobo, Adobe Digital Edition, .pdf and in HTML.  All other formats for the various readers may be obtained from this link:  http://bit.ly/nAnomv.

12-26-11   Hello.  "Prepare for the Harvest" ebook version was accepted into the Premium Distribution channel through Smashwords (where the book was 1st electronically published).  I have an inquiry in to them as to exactly what I need to do next.  The ebook will be offered on Amazon, Barners & Noble, etc.  Please read the 10-24-11 entry.  I have an inventory of the hard-copy of the book at my home.  You can send a check to be fof $17.50, and I can meet you and give you your book.  Don't mail cash.  I need to have received the check from you.  I will give you a receipt.  You need to live in the Indianapolis, Fishers, Carmel (Indiana) areas for this personalized service.  Any questions, please email me here.

6-18-11      I have been putting a great deal of time on the meditation book that I have written, entitled "Prepare for the Harvest".  This daily reminders and affirmation book is based on those with the more common dual-diagnosis of any addiction  (with an emphasis on alcoholism) and Borderline Personality DisorderThis book was started in June 2010, and is be readied for publication.  Please stay tuned.  Please email me any interest you might have in procuring a copy, which will be available in a couple of months.

5-15-11    As the main page of this website says, May is BPD Awareness Month.  I am busy searching articles for updated information, studies, discoveries, hope, and treatments that have all aided in the quest for managing this disorder.  As I have for two (2)years now:  I continue to provide you with free information in hopes that 1) more therapists will take on treating BPDs   2) that more BPDs will seek treatment   3) that friends and families of BPDs can learn more about this disorder that can plague their lives with a BPD, who is in frequent interaction with them.  While friends and family may not be able to "fix" the BPD, they can learn how to take care of themselves, and keep children safe when the Borderline gets out of control.  Understanding this disorder can also create compassion within one when dealing with a Borderline....because life is like walking on eggshells.  (read Randi Kreger and Paul Mason's book)

2-22-11     Hello to all of the people who survived all of the holidays, and the harsh winter weather across the United States.   After 20 days of downtime with the desktop computer awaiting service (delayed by the brutal snow and ice in the Midwest), my research efforts have resumed
.  My web-design programs are not on my laptop, yet I still sought BPD information in articles published that I kept in a computer file for transfer once it was operating again.

After visiting many websites over the last several months in viewing content and design, I have toyed with the idea of "sprucing up this website" with a sharper, more streamlined look to it. I back away from this each time, as I am not trying to "sell you" on anything.  I am not wanting the razzle-dazzle of a state-of-the art site.  I am wish to provide you with a lot of good information, advice, studies, opinions, and empirical evidence about this debilitating disorder of Borderline Personality Disorder.  The last thing I would want to do is join the ranks of a "best-dressed" website look and feel.   Everyone worries about their appearance, though.  Comments are appreciated.  You may email me privately.

10-3-10    To Professionals:   I have received emails from laypersons who want to contact a therapist in their home region.  They wish that the therapist be trained in successful methods for treating Borderline Personality Disorder, and that they have experience in doing so.  On this website's "Special Thanks" page, there are approximately 17 therapists who have contacted me directly about this website and made favorable comments.

I am making this offer:  any therapist in any state of the United States or province or country on any continent may email me with their contact information and I will "advertise" for them on this site.  I will need your address, city, state, zip code, country, email address and what specialty of treatment that you may use in the treatment of BPD.  i.e.  Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy, Transference-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, BPD Awareness Skills & Empowerment (BASE), Systems Training for Emotional Predictability & Problem Solving (STEPPS), EMDR or any combination of these that have worked for your Borderline clients.

If you have a website, most importantly, I will add that to your contact information on this site.
As stated elsewhere in this website, the counter reflects only the 1st-time visits to this site.  Any people that return to this site are not counted, nor any refreshes of the site made by myself.  I wanted a true counting of "new people" accessing this website.  Please forward this to all of your colleagues who are BPD treatment practitioners.  Sincere thanks to you all.

8-26-10     I am wanting to explain my project that is currently an undertaking with this website.  My intent is not to promote this book here.  It is a meditation book (yes, 366 days) for people with dual-disorders of an addiction AND Borderline Personality Disorder.  Bite-sized pieces of information are related each day about one disorder or the other, or both, or a related topic impacting both.  I am continuing the research for this site to stay up to date on any new developments in this area of mental health.  There is so much hope out there in the field.  This additional project has been a real eye-opener for me.  I have looked deeper and deeper into the disorder (as well as myself), received emails from a few readers, and continue to give this my top priority.  Where would I be without this daily dedication to learning more about this illness and practicing the skills to the best of my ability on any given day.  I really enjoy hearing from therapists.  I do a link exchange with anyone who has a mental health website.  I also have a couple of thousand business cards I printed up advertising this website.  I will be glad to send you some of them (free).  They may be placed in waitingrooms or given to clients.

7-24-10    I wish to express my huge appreciation for the overwhelming response of readers to this website.  I continue to research this topic of Borderline Personality Disorder daily, as well as I have started a book on the same topic.

I have been in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for over six years, and have been sober for 21 years.  This website was started in May 2009, and there is new information on this topic released monthly over the internet.  I obtain this new information in any manner that is available to me, as well as, I read mental health websites, read blogs of other Borderlines and mental health experts, along with a multitude of articles.

I have received emails from readers asking me questions and or advice about Borderline.  I can only share my Experience  and Knowledge of this disorder.  I am not a professional, nor do I have any credentials in this field.  I have a graduate degree, but it is in business administration.  My function and purpose is to provide information to people "out there" who have a mental health concern for either themselves, or someone whom they know.

I am very commited to getting the word out about BPD.  The statistics are changing all the time, and I try to stay up with them.  I am certainly encouraged by all the response to this website, and have even gotten some positive feedback from Dr. Judith Orloff herself.  A couple of her books are mentioned elsewhere in this site.

Please, please, please ----forward this site on.  I have business cards that I have sent out to professionals, advertising the link to this site.  I have done all of this at my own expense: cards, postage, and hundreds of hours of research and webdesign time.  It keeps me sober and sane to know that I may make just one tiny little difference in someone's life who struggles with the same disorder I have.

On a lighter, more humorous note: I am not in my 20's or 30's...or I would have gotten sober at 5 years old!  The Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan show on February 9, 1964, the day after my tenth birthday.  Do the math.  I have been around for awhile.  My life's experiences as a Borderline have accrued for decades, and oh some of the stories I could tell !   <smile> I have been quite candid about where I have come from while in treatment, and that has helped with my recovery.  Honesty, Open-Mindedness, and Willingness.  These are also the spiritual principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.
